About
I am a photographer located in Cold Spring, New York. My principal subjects are landscapes, as well as birds and other wildlife. I travel frequently and have photographed landscapes, wildlife and other subjects both locally, in the Hudson Valley and in many other locations in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and New Zealand. My interest in landscape photography grew out of my travels and a desire to create a permanent record of the many remarkable sights I have encountered. I am constantly in search of a viewpoint that delivers an interesting composition, a perspective that creates the illusion of depth in a two-dimensional image, and lighting conditions, whether during daylight hours or at night, that enhance the beauty of the subject.
My photos have been featured in print or on the web by Architectural Digest, Viajes National Geographic, The Scots Magazine, Manhattan Magazine, Lonely Planet guides, the Maine Office of Tourism, the Portland, Maine Convention + Visitors Bureau, the Columbia County, New York Office of Tourism, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, among others. My photograph “The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, at Sunrise” won a photo competition sponsored by Ilford Imaging. I maintain a photography website and a Facebook site, and I am also a contributing photographer of Getty Images.
